From planning to printing.
Creating a cohesive and smart presentation is a great way to share your ideas and engage with your audience. Here are some tips that can help you make the most of your presentation:
Tell a Story
Don’t just explain what you do and why it matters — tell a story that illustrates how your product or service can improve someone’s life.
Design Tips
Use bullet points, graphs, and charts to keep your audience engaged and interested in what you’re saying. Use simple fonts, like Arial or Times New Roman. These fonts are easy to read and understand, even for those who don’t have perfect vision. If you want to use a font that is not well-known, make sure it’s readable. Test it out with your peers to see if they can read it. If not, use a different font instead!
Print It Out
Studies show 88% of people retain information better when read on paper. Printed collateral can be used as a visual aid or to provide the audience with information.
Printed collateral makes it easy for people to follow along during your presentation. Print out handouts or brochures for each person in your audience before you begin speaking so they have something to hold on to and reference.
You’ll want to select heavier weighted paper depending on the type of presentation. For more formal presentations, choose a cardstock to give a luxurious impression.
Practice
Finally, to make sure your presentation runs smoothly, practice in front of someone else so they can give feedback on what works well and what needs improving; this will help bring out any nerves or issues before they become problematic during actual presentations.
