A look back at 2022.

Once again, let’s take a look at the past year and the road ahead. We are still facing challenges related to the pandemic, the resurgence of the flu and RSV. Certainly, stubborn inflation and lingering supply chain issues are still headwinds. And a potential diesel fuel shortage is a threat that could impact all of us. All the while, it has been a fantastic year for AOPD and our members and here are the reasons to celebrate:

Sales Continue to Grow

After turning a corner in the last five months of 2021, AOPD sales blasted forward in 2022, up 18% YTD through November. NCPA and Premier business returned to 2019 levels and Dealer-owned commercial contracts are now nicely positive, up 22% after considerable declines in 2020 and 2021.

Annual Meeting

AOPD held its 2022 Engage Annual Meeting in San Antonio, TX in June. This was one of our best meetings to date, partly because it was our first “in person” Engage since March 2020. The two-day event was well attended, and everyone was truly “engaged” in one-on-ones, small peer groups and new Group Marketing Workshops. It was great to be back together after two full years of virtual meetings.

Member Growth

AOPD added five new Dealers and one new Business Partner, finishing 2022 with 71 Dealer members and 20 Supplier Business Partners with several new ones in the current pipeline. AOPD also added 27 new commercial contracts as of November.

Healthcare Success

AOPD expanded its healthcare offerings, adding the brand new Vizient Contract award. Vizient started in November and is just getting ramped up, but we expect big things in 2023. Premier growth persists and a pleasant surprise, our OrthoForum contract, is up 143% through October. Betsy Hughes, AOPD National Healthcare Sales Director and our entire team are paving the way for success in this critical vertical market.

NCPA Success

AOPD’s NCPA Program is still our largest contract, set to top $34M in sales for 2022. Sales are up 20% through October.

Marketing & Training

AOPD University continued this year as a sales and marketing training platform for our Dealers. Also, due to demand from our Engage meeting, AOPD added a Peer Sharing Exchange every other month starting in July. This has become one of our most popular programs where we discuss topics critical to Dealers’ success.

“AOPD Market Connect” is still an essential informational conduit by which our Business Partners reach our Dealers almost instantly with news, flyers, and new product info.

Looking Ahead

AOPD is pleased to report such positive progress in 2022. However, we never end our quest to look for new growth opportunities for our members. We plan to expand on our positive momentum in 2023. We’re excited to see an even greater desire by Dealers to find ways to grow and work with AOPD to help them reach those goals.
