What’s trending in office design?

Is it time to update your office? The latest office designs feature trends to get people excited about returning to the office and feeling comfortable in their office space.

Sustainability

Green design has been a topic in the office environment. Still, it is becoming a ‘must-have.’ The latest trends include using recycled materials to construct your space or using natural light to reduce lighting costs. You can even create a green roof on top of your building to improve air quality and reduce runoff.

Technology, Data and Connectivity

To improve productivity in the workplace, you need to make sure that your employees have access to the right tools at all times. That includes providing them with access to data from anywhere on their devices via cloud services or other means like smartphones or tablets with mobile apps installed on them, so they don’t have to wait for access when they need it most! This also means having strong Wi-Fi signals throughout all areas, so there are no dead spots where people have trouble connecting their devices.

Neurodiverse Spaces

The new generation is more diverse than ever before, so employers should be prepared for all kinds of physical and mental needs when designing new spaces for employees. Consider creating specifically for people who have different needs for sensory experiences like light and sound. These spaces give employees with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), or other neurodiverse minds, a place where they feel comfortable working because there are no disruptions or less distractions.

Resimercial Interiors

Resimercial is a new word that describes workspaces that feel like home – it’s the words ‘residential’ and ‘commercial’ put together. Many people got used to the work-from-home vibe and want a softer, homier office feel. Try to create spaces that offer employees the ability to work from anywhere throughout the office without sacrificing quality or convenience. Consider soft, moveable pieces of furniture that can double as meeting space or focus space, depending on the configuration.
