As a small business owner, you should take advantage of the resources available to you. We’ve compiled a list of small business resources to help you set your organization up for success.

See What’s Out There

Local resources are unique to your city and state. One of the simplest ways to find out what resources are available is to Google, “small business resources in (the name of your town). This will allow you to identify some local options in your nearby community. Usually, URLs ending in .gov and .org are a great place to start.

There are many national resources that can be helpful as well. You can visit websites like usa.gov to learn more about your state resources from financing to regulations and more or the Small Business Administration designed to aid, counsel, assist and protect the interest of small businesses.

Don’t Stop Learning

Small businesses are always growing and should change with the times, which is why the leaders in those organizations must constantly learn and evolve. A helpful resource and easy way to learn more is to start listening to podcasts focused on small businesses. For example, OPI Talks discusses all the latest news and developments in the office product world, featuring insightful interviews and expert analysis. Other podcasts you might like are How I Built This, TED Talks Business, and $100 MBA.

Prefer a more visual learning experience? YouTube now hosts thousands of videos that include helpful resources and advice for small businesses. Some channels you might want to check out are Skillshare, Fast Company, and Robin Sharma.

Use Your Network To Your Advantage

If you’re a small business owner, you know the importance of networking in your local community and beyond. In fact, your LinkedIn is probably filled with connections you’ve made over the years, which makes it a fantastic platform to seek out small business resources. Whether you look for advice from your peers or from industry leaders, there are a plethora of helpful resources to be found through LinkedIn.

LinkedIn also offers a paid learning section with short courses on many different topics. To find this section, click on the ‘Work’ tab at the top right of your page and select the ‘Learning’ icon below. The best part? Your first month is free.
