Doing the Impossible

When you’re tasked with a seemingly impossible project, it can be hard to know where to start. Try these four tips to get you going and make the impossible possible.

Pump up your attitude

A great place to start is with your frame of mind. Instead of thinking of all the problems, start thinking of all the opportunities. Sometimes just putting on your favorite upbeat music is all you need to shake away the negativities and start working toward a solution.

Get the obvious ideas out

Often, we get stuck thinking too small. But it can be hard to shake some of those initial cliché concepts – so write them down and get them all out so you can move on to bigger and better ideas.

Set small goals

When a mountain of work feels too big to climb, it can be helpful to create smaller milestones along the way. This means you can chip away at each leg of the journey and celebrate when you hit each goal. Before you know it, you’ll be well on your way to completing the entire project.

Put the work in

Great projects don’t just come together. You need to put in the hard time with some hard work. Whether that’s thinking through a ton of different scenarios, reviewing hundreds of data points, or researching, developing and testing your theories. There’s no substitute for good, hard work.

The path to success is paved with seemingly impossible obstacles, but with the right attitude, process, milestones and hard work, you can achieve the impossible.
