St. Charles, IL (September 3, 2013) – With the retirement of Tom Sullivan, the American Office Products Distributors, Inc. (AOPD) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Barry Lane, Avery Products, to the AOPD Business Partner Advisory Council, effective immediately. Barry will be the fourth member of the Advisory Board, which works closely with the AOPD Board of Directors in developing and implementing programs that support all our dealers and business partners members throughout the year.
Bud Mundt commented, “Tom was on the AOPD Business Partner Advisory Council and through his help and excellent counsel played an important role in our growth and success. He was involved with many of the growth initiatives which helped develop AOPD in to the market leader in regional and national contracts.”
Mundt continued, “Although Tom will be sorely missed, we are excited to bring Barry onto the council. Barry has been a long-time champion of the independent channel and AOPD. He brings the experience and commitment needed to be an integral part of AOPD’s future growth.”
Barry has been employed at Avery Products for 31 years and is currently the Vice President, Commercial Channel Sales. “As a long term AOPD supplier partner, I look forward to working with Bud, the board and my supplier colleagues to ensure we all remain relevant and competitive in our evolving Industry,” stated Barry Lane. He continued, “The independent dealer, and AOPD dealers in particular, have been an integral part of our Industry’s and Avery’s success for many years.”
Barry joins Mike Wilbur from Cosco, Bill Cardone from MeadWestvaco, and Terry Marquardt from 3M as the newest member of this distinguished group of executives.
