December is here once again, and with it, the holiday season, marking the end of another year and the excitement of what’s next. This year has presented AOPD with unexpected challenges that we couldn’t have predicted at the start of 2024. Yet, I’m proud to share that the AOPD team has proven resilient, not only overcoming these hurdles but emerging even stronger as a united team.

Each year comes with its own mix of highs and lows, triumphs and setbacks, and opportunities – some seized, some missed. Ultimately, it’s about reflecting on the past, assessing the results, and looking ahead. Regardless of what the year brought, there’s always space for optimism about the future – especially when you’re positioned for success.

Here is a brief look back at 2024:

Retirement

As we reflect on 2024, we begin with a moment of bittersweet remembrance. This year, we bid farewell to our long-time and cherished leader, Mark Leazer, who retired in October of 2024. His departure is deeply felt by everyone who knew him – our Business Partners, dealers, and AOPD staff and consultants alike.

While his absence is a significant loss, we are hopeful that he will enjoy a fulfilling retirement with his wife, children, and grandchildren. We are forever grateful for his leadership, mentorship, and unwavering dedication to the IDC. His strategic vision and direction laid the foundation for many of the successes we’ve achieved, and his legacy will continue to guide us as we move forward. The team is immensely thankful for the lasting impact he has made on AOPD.

Engage 24 Annual Meeting

AOPD kicked off its annual Engage meeting in Orlando during the month of May. Once again it received rave reviews as one of the most anticipated and beneficial meetings within the industry, due to engagement and attendance.

In 2025, AOPD will be partnering with ISG’s Industry Week at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Aurora, CO from November 3rd-8th. We look forward to this collaboration and seeing everyone in Colorado.

2024 Sales Growth

This year has been a highly successful sales year, with an expected overall growth of around 12%. One area that continues to show strong growth is our dealer-driven contracts. These contracts were significantly impacted by the pandemic, so it’s incredibly rewarding to see them returning to pre-pandemic levels.

Healthcare Growth

Healthcare remains a key focus for our dealers, as many locations require the high level of service that only independent dealers can offer. Our contracts in this sector have seen significant growth over the past year, with a 51% increase compared to last year. We expect this growth to continue at a rapid pace in 2025, driven by strong relationships with several Vizient Channel Partners.

New OMNIA Partners Contract

In September, we were excited to announce that we were awarded a new OMNIA contract through Region 14, which began on October 1st. This new contract overlaps with our current one, which expires on May 31, 2025, and will allow our dealers to continue selling to public sector customers through September 30, 2027, with the option for two additional one-year renewals.

OMNIA has seen a 14% growth this year, and with a solid go-to-market strategy in place for 2025, we anticipate even greater growth in the year ahead.

2025 and Beyond

Despite this year’s challenges, AOPD is thrilled to share the positive progress made in 2024. However, our pursuit of new growth opportunities for our members never stops. In 2025, we aim to build on this momentum and are excited to see even more dealers and Business Partners eager to collaborate with AOPD in reaching their growth goals.
